Modern Therapy in Pulmonary Echinococcus

Abstract

In his -paper on the present-day treatment of pulmonary echinococcus the author reviews current methods used in dealing with pulmonary echinococus, referring particularly to the operative method of treatment as practised at his Clinic. During the last ten years or so the author has used this method in 73 cases.One patient died — due to complications following administration of ani anaesthetic — and in ali 72 cases surgical treatment was successful. The use of the operative method as strongly advocated and supported by the author’s experience and experimental data obtained from tests made with grafting of pericystics chitin membrane to abdominal organs of animals.
