Corpuscular Antigens for Microagglutination Test in Enzootic Abortion of Ewes

Investigations have ibeen made on the preparation of corpuscular antigens of the microorganisms of enzootic abortion in ewes for microagglutination test and the quality of these antigens regarding purity, concentration of bodies of microorganisms, the number of positive reactions with sera of convalescent ewes from infected farms and the titter levels. The antigen which was prepared from yolk sacs by centrifugation-separation was not of good quality. It included a great deal of tissue fragments and a low concentration of bodies of microorganisms.
Using fluorocarbon and dialysis it could not be received antigen from the yolk with enough concentration of bodies. Antigen which was prepared from yolk sacs by use of M/l KC1 and high centrifugation (17.350 r. p. m.) was sufficient pure with high concentration of bodies and gave the most of positive reactions with sera of naturally infected sheep (70.75%) in titters up to 1 : 640.
