The nightmares of a middle-aged editor

Abstract

It was an inspirational moment for me whenI first came to Croatia, building friendshipswith the editors of the Croatian MedicalJournal, friendship and relationships whichare even stronger today than they were a decadeago. And it is a particular pleasure tobe able to be back to see my friends here andto have the opportunity to reflect a little biton the world of knowledge, research, education,and how editors and the scientific communityfit in to this emerging culture.
