The Extent of the ABO Blood Groups at the Population of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Abstract

With the analysis of the ABO system blood groups of the population of Bosnia and Herzegovina and with the statistical elaboration according to Pearson and Kolmogorov—Smirnov, because of the significant differences in the frequency of the genotypes and the phenotypes of the ABO system, we notice the differences of the appearances which are characteristic and interesting for the genetic study about the population of our inhabitants.

There as the significant difference 'in the frequency of the genotypes and the phenotypes of the ABO system between the inhabitants of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the other republics of our country. Also, is proved the significant difference in the frequency of the genotypes and the phenotypes of the ABO system, between the inhabitants of the Bihac district and the other districts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. These districts show the homogeneity in the frequency of the phenotypes and the genotypes of the ABO system. It was not possible to prove the significant difference in the frequency of the phenotypes and the genotypes of the groups of inhabitants of the various religions. In this work were examined the blood groups at 54.677 persons.
