A Contribution to the Pathophysiology of Statical Tremor

It has been shown that substances which directly activate motoric cells of the anterior horn of the spinal cord, and also those which activate choline-esterase, increase the static tremor provoked by tremorine. Substances which weaken the action of choline acetylase or interfere with the transportation of choline to the site of its acetalization weaken the tremorine tremor.
It is concluded that for the development of the static tremor, the increased activity of motoric cell of the anterior horn, and the increased cholinergic activity of these cells, are essential.
