Zdenko Sonicki is Associate Professor at the Department for Medical Statistics, Epidemiology and Medical Informatics, Andrija Štampar School of Public Health, Medical School, University of Zagreb.

Born in Zagreb in 1960. Graduated from Medical School University of Zagreb in 1989. MSc. from Medical School Univ. of Zagreb, in 1994. PhD also Medical School Univ. of Zagreb, in 2002. He started his carrier at the Clinical Hospital Sestre milosrdnice 1989-1992, from intern to research fellow. From 1992 he started his academic carrier at the University of Zagreb, Medical School.

His academic and research interests are medical statistics, intelligent data analysis, predictive models in health care and statistical genetics. He was researcher on several scientific and technology projects granted by Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sport, principal investigator on project Predictive Models in Health Care.

Professor Sonicki participated on several international projects and worked as WHO temporary advisor. Worked in organizing comities of several international scientific congresses.

Dr. Sonicki has been teaching for 20 years both graduate and post-graduate students and participated co-mentorship Univ. Politecnica de Catalunya.

He published more than 65 scientific papers published in indexed journals and more than 50 papers published in other journals and congresses. His work was cited more than 360 times according to SCI and SSCI.
