Dr. Marija Petrovic is a graduate of Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade in Serbia. She had also graduated with both, master and Ph.D. diplomas in cardiology and echocardiography at the same medical school.

From 2013–2019 she worked at Cardiology Clinic, Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade. In 2019, she was nominated for the research assistant, and elected for the clinical assistant to professor in cardiology at University of Belgrade (Faculty of Medicine). Since 2019 she continued her training at the Icahn School of Medicine in New York (US). Dr. Marija Petrovic has been involved in many national and international research projects regarding coronary artery disease, stable cardiac angina and stress echocardiography. She is the author and coauthor of many nationally and internationally published papers and abstracts.

Dr. Marija Petrovic has worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Advanced Heart Failure and UTHealth at Texas Medical Center in Houston Texas (US) where she was engaged in the management of advanced heart failure patients with novel therapies, especially with mechanical circulatory support devices and heart transplants.

She is interested in pursuing her research in advanced cardiac imaging, coronary artery disease, and heart failure.

Dr. Marija Petrovic speaks Serbian, Italian, Russian and Portuguese languages.
